G’Day Friends
If you have been to Buchan Caves recently no doubt you noticed the new shelter & interpretation sign at the entry to Federal cave. The shelter & sign was completed at a friends working bee’s over last summer.
A quick note to let you know what’s in the works pipe line. We have applied for a grant this August to continue with more work in Federal Cave. What’s planned is the replacement of the main solar power cable in the cave with a more robust & powerful cable. Also to increase the solar power by fitting an extra solar panel. There is a proposal to continue tours beyond the King Solomon’s Throne, this will involve some track making, general cleaning in the extended area. Contactors will fit a hand rail at King Solomon’s to protect the formation. We will let you know how we go with the grant, even if we are not successful we can finance much of the work through the donations by visitors to Buchan caves. So the working bees should be on later this year & early next year.

Our past Vice President Darryl Pierce has moved to Germany to live. So we welcome our new Vice President Scott Hall.
